About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Subsea Equipment & Service, the Senior Subsea Equipment Engineer will provide engineering support for subsea operational issues, monitor activities at the Cenovus Subsea facility, manage the equipment with the service provider, and coordinate equipment preparation and testing for offshore execution. Key tasks for this role include engineering support, procurement management, and quality assurance.

This position is located at our St. John, NL office. Occasional travel to Ingleside, TX and Argentia, NL is required.

What you’ll do:

  • Specify requirements and manage the procurement, engineering, and testing of subsea equipment and software for various subsea scopes

  • Provide engineering support through document and design reviews, and manage equipment such as infrastructure replacements, upgrades, repairs, new infill wells, workovers for abandonments, spares, and obsolescence

  • Coordinate the storage, preservation, and maintenance of subsea inventory, and providing operational support for subsea issues, including troubleshooting, studies, and coordinating procurement and testing

  • Supervise contractor work scopes, verifying component factory acceptance testing (FAT)/extended factory acceptance testing (EFAT), and facilitating component site acceptance testing (SAT)/site integration testing (SIT)

  • Participate in special projects and the Subsea Well Delivery process as required

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • A member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Laboratory (PEGNL)

  • Experience in operational engineering support for oil and gas subsea systems

  • Experience in engineering design, fabrication, and testing for oil and gas equipment as well as knowledge of industry standards

  • Experience with offshore subsea installation scopes

  • Contract and facilities management experience

  • Strong understanding of subsea and control systems

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a medical and driver’s abstract review
