We are hiring for 1 position in Calgary and 1 position in Lloydminster in this posting. After submitting your application, you will receive a screening questionnaire by February 20th, where you can indicate your preferences.
Calgary:
The successful candidate will join our Emissions Management team, playing a crucial role in implementing and adhering to government air emission regulations and ensuring that our equipment and processes remain in compliance. This position entails close collaboration with various teams and actively monitoring Cenovus's operational emissions.
Lloydminster (HMGP):
The Environment Student supports the Midstream Integrity & Environment team in managing environmental compliance, monitoring, and assessments. The role involves fieldwork and office tasks, including site inspections, data analysis, and environmental reporting. This position provides hands-on experience in environmental field programs, regulatory compliance, and technical collaboration.

What you’ll do
Emission Management:
Communicate regulatory updates to our Canadian business units and develop effective compliance strategies.
Support technical projects for emissions compliance, including equipment upgrades and emissions testing.
Maintain emissions records, build reports using software, and coordinated glycol dehydrator compliance.
Provide oversight for Fugitive Emissions programs, prepare government reports, and engage with industry peers on regulatory matters.
Environmental Team:
Conduct environmental monitoring and assessments, including site inspections and groundwater sampling.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams on remediation and reclamation programs.
Prepare and file environmental reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Participate in environmental technical meetings and present findings to stakeholders.
Who you are
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
Available to begin work in September 2025.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in tools such as MS Office, Google Earth, SAP, and Spotfire.
Education
Must be enrolled in an Environmental/Sustainability Engineering, Bio-Chem Science, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geology or a related Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
