The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently seeking a full-time, temporary (18 months) Health Records Analyst to support the Health Records department. Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Management Services, the Health Records Analyst will work with CAMH’s electronic health record to conduct a variety of activities including but not limited to: assisting with the processing of Mental Health Act Forms in accordance with legislation and CAMH policy; coding and abstracting of patient information using the ICD-10 CA/CCI classification system (NACRS, DAD); also assist with processing release of information requests, scanning and distribution, chart completion and quality, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position's shift is currently required to work Monday to Friday and is located at the Queen Street Site.

The successful candidate will possess a Health Information Management (HIM) diploma, certified by the Canadian College of Health Information Management at the Associate/Certificant Level, Post-secondary education, 2 years in the HIM field performing a range of health records functions. Knowledge of health record format and content, both in paper and electronic formats and strong literacy in Microsoft office suite is required. Experience in working with Cerner Millennium and WinRex Med2020 applications is an asset. Knowledge and good understanding of relevant mental health/addiction and privacy legislation governing health records management, such as the Personal Health Information and Protection Act, Public Hospitals Act, Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decision Act is an asset. The candidate will have excellent communication, organization and time management skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients, clients and staff. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated team player who can work independently and is able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines while demonstrating a commitment to high quality work. The ability to use a team approach in solving problems is required. Bilingualism (French/ English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
