Research Analyst - General Adult Psychiatry and Health Systems Division-camh

The Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Clinic is currently looking for a full-time, contract (12-month) Research Analyst to support ongoing research studies. These studies include a randomized clinical trial evaluating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) treatment for individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. The work will involve interaction with the BPD Clinic Head, as well as a larger research team including scientists, post-doctoral fellows, research analysts and work study students, located at CAMH. The successful candidate will assist with conducting assessments with study participants including administering clinical interviews and performance tasks including: the IPDE, SASSI, Treatment History Interview, CPT-3, IAT and UWRAP. The successful candidate will assist with collecting, cleaning and preparing data for entry and for data base management. As well, you may assist with preparing ethics renewals and other administrative tasks. Other duties include conducting literature reviews, preparing data for presentations, drafting power point presentations and preparing tables for peer reviewed papers. Other administrative duties are also required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and the online survey software, Redcap is an asset. The Research Analyst requires superior interpersonal, management, problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively with staff on and off site. Excellent organizational skills are essential as the candidate will be responsible for coordinating among multiple tasks, and interacting with a variety of individuals simultaneously. The candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 60 White Squirrel Way (Queen Street site of CAMH).

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field, with 1 year experience in clinical or health services research. Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures, quantitative and/or qualitative research, standardized operating procedures, clinical interviewing, research ethics, clinical epidemiology, statistics, and study monitoring is required. Experience administering the SCID or MINI is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, data management software is required. Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large databases would be an asset. Previous experience in the grant application process and maintaining study budgets would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, interviewing and organization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic academic research team environment with minimal supervision, are required. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Prior experience working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder is an asset. Bilingualism (French/English), or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
