Research Analyst - Institute for Mental Health Policy Research-camh

The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is home to leading scientific experts dedicated to informing policy and practice on mental illness and substance use disorders. IMHPR scientists conduct collaborative research on communities, populations, health systems and global health, and develop and evaluate prevention and intervention initiatives to reduce mental health and substance use challenges. IMHPR is seeking a casual Research Analyst. The Research Analyst will work collaboratively with a team of researchers as part of the Rangerman Public Health Practice and Innovation in Addictions (RAPID) Lab fund which aims to promote fast-tracked, innovative and action-oriented work in research and clinical programs at CAMH to address the opioid crisis, with a focus on public health practice and the development and evaluation of evidence-based prevention strategies and policy frameworks. This is a casual position. Hours will fluctuate based on the demands of the research but will not exceed 15 hours a week.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in public health policy, drug policy, criminology, sociology, addiction-related fields, or other related/relevant disciplines. Knowledge related to addictions is considered an asset, as well as experience interacting with individuals in academic, research, and community health service settings. The successful candidate will have demonstrated research skills, including conducting literature searches and reviews, collecting qualitative and/or quantitative research data, summarizing research findings, and developing scientific papers or reports. The successful candidate will have strong writing skills, as demonstrated through authoring papers, academic publications and/or reports. Must have experience with EndNote or similar reference management tool. Knowledge of quantitative software (e.g., SPSS) and qualitative software (e.g., NVivo) tools is an asset. Candidate must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This position requires the individual to work independently as well as within a team setting.
