The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest academic health sciences centre dedicated to mental health and addiction. Research at Slaight specifically, and community mental health broadly, have been a major focus at CAMH. The Slaight Family Centre clinical research program is for youth in transition, who are at-risk for, or at early stages of severe mental illness. The main goal of the Slaight Family Centre is to put more young people with severe mental illness on a path to recovery, through the development of new treatments, enhancement of early detection efforts, and clinical brain research.

Position Description

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Research is seeking a Research Analyst in a casual role. The area of focus is on climate change and health and implications for populations experiencing poverty. Reporting to the Principal Investigator and Manager and working with a range of partners, your duties will include but are not limited to multiple administrative tasks, database management, and stakeholder communications. You will contribute to scoping and systematic reviews and knowledge mobilization activities. Lived expertise and Indigenous engagement are key aspects of this work You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements, and encourages recovery-oriented care. This position is primarily located at 1025 Queen Street West.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Life Sciences, or a related field and graduate training in public health, including one (1) year of experience and training related to climate and health equity. Experience with literature reviews, using covidence and, specifically, women’s health is required. Proficiency in PC software skills, including Microsoft Office and internet search engines is required. Detail oriented, well-organized, with a strong technical aptitude is required. Knowledge mobilization skills are required. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); and function well within a cooperative, collaborative working environment. You have the ability for self-directed learning/working; while working concurrently on multiple projects. Candidates must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and with individuals with severe mental health challenges. Bilingualism (English/French) and/or proficiency in another language, lived expertise in areas pertinent to this project, and experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities are all assets.
