Research Assistant 1 - Neurobiology of Depression and Aging-camh

The Neurobiology of Depression and Aging Department is seeking two (2) casual, contract (4 month) Research Assistant I positions to participate in preclinical studies involving animals. The duties of this position include but are not limited to animal care for rat and mice, colony management, and assistance with behavioral experiments, as well as molecular biology work and data analysis. The Research Assistant I will work closely with team members to ensure project continuation. The incumbent will support a workplace that embraces diversity, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 250 College.

The successful candidate will have completed secondary school and special courses related to neuroscience or related. Exposure to animal research or a veterinary environment would be considered an asset. Experience working with rats and mice in a research setting and experience in general wet lab procedures is preferred. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to work with a diverse team of staff, students and researchers with minimal supervision is essential. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
