Description
The Temerty Centre for Therapeutic Brain Intervention Research Program is seeking applications for a full-time, contract (12 months), Research Assistant 1. The incumbent will join a productive team in one of the world’s leading centres in treatment, research and training related to brain stimulation therapies. In addition to clinical treatment trials, the team also specializes in neurophysiology studies aimed at providing novel insights into brain function in individuals with psychiatric disorders.
Reporting to the Research Manager, the Research Assistant 1 will primarily provide support and assistance to the research team including data entry and coding, working with databases, ensuring accuracy and data quality is maintained and archival research records. Other duties include pre-screening of research participants, scheduling participant visits, obtaining informed consent, administration of questionnaires, accompanying participant to MRI scans and verifying study case report forms for accuracy and completeness. You will provide regular updates to the Manager and other duties will include the provision of administrative support to the team. The candidate must be able to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. This position is located primarily at 1025 Queen Street West.
The successful candidate will have completed Grade 12 and/or special courses. Post-Secondary Certificate or College Diploma in a related discipline, and relevant research experience will be an asset. The successful candidate will be detail oriented with demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to produce high quality and accurate work while meeting program deadlines and requirements. Experience working with research records is an asset. Other preferred skills include the ability to work in a team environment as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are preferred. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
