Accounting Business Analyst

Position Description:

Solution Planning and Delivery: Contribute to the planning and delivery roadmap for accounting and financial analytics solutions.
Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between IT and business partners to translate business requirements into product backlog items and/or IT technical specifications.
Financial Reporting: Set up and optimize financial reports using tools like Power BI.
Problem-Solving: Take ownership of complex accounting problem-solving assignments, recommend efficient solutions, and facilitate their implementation.
Functional Specifications: Develop and manage functional interface specifications for accounting systems.
Solution Design: Contribute to the design of accounting solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and requirements.

Education: Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications: Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is a strong asset.

-Accounting and Systems Analysis: 5+ years of experience in accounting and system analysis, particularly in financial applications and/or BI/analytics solutions.
-Business and IT Alignment: Experience in aligning business and IT, working across teams to drive common approaches and deliver sustainable, agile, and reusable solutions.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviors)
-SQL and Data Analysis: Proficiency with SQL tools for data analysis and data mining is crucial.
-Power BI: Strong proficiency with Power BI for financial reporting.
-Database/Infrastructure: Working knowledge of traditional database/infrastructure: Windows, Microsoft SQL Server.
-Communication Skills: Excellent French and English language communication skills (spoken and written).

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
