Business Analyst

Position Description:

Take a lead role in the testing lifecycle (regression testing, systems integrated testing, and UAT testing).
Facilitate and contribute to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) for new enhancements during all phases: planning, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities
Be a key contributor to solution planning and delivery roadmap regarding analytics and operations suites solutions.
Liaise between IT and business partners to have the business requirements translated into product backlog items and / or IT technical specifications.
Act as a BI Specialist by setting up and optimizing power BI reports.
Take ownership of complex problem-solving assignments, recommend efficient solutions and be an enabler of their implementation.
Take ownership of the functional interfaces specifications.
Be a key contributor to solution design and ensure alignment with business goals and requirements.

Academic Background
Hold a bachelor’s degree in finance or in computer science and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the financial investment industry, more specifically in public markets or private markets, is a crucial asset.
Financial certification (e.g. CFA, FRM, etc,) is a strong asset.

Intermediate or Senior

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Experience
5+ years of experience business and system analysis experience in financial investment applications and/or BI/analytics solutions.
Experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, operating across business and technology teams to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and re-usable solutions.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviors)
Proficiency with SQL tools for data analysis and data mining is a crucial asset.
Proficiency with Power BI is a strong asset.
Knowledge of messaging in XML: Schemas, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
Working knowledge of traditional database/infrastructure: Windows, Microsoft SQL Server
Excellent French and English language communication skills (spoken and written).
