Director, Canada Microsoft Alliance Lead

Position Description:

Work location: Toronto or Montreal

CGI has a global strategic alliance program covering eight selected partners: AWS, Google, Microsoft, UiPath, SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and NetApp. Alliance leads are assigned per strategic business unit.

The objective of the program is to strengthen our partnerships to the mutual benefit of CGI and the partner, bringing growth to the organization. The Director, Microsoft Alliance leads the Microsoft alliance relationship in Canada and has a critical role in ensuring that each of CGI’s strategic business units has inputs into the development of the partnership and benefits the alliance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As the Director, Canada Microsoft Alliance, your responsibilities include:
Strategic alignment:

• Working closely with the Microsoft Global Alliance Manager to align with the strategic goals and direction of the Microsoft alliance.
• Working with all Business Unit leads across Canada to create and execute a partner business plan, including member development and marketing, to increase CGI pipeline, revenue, and overall market adoption of Microsoft-aligned solutions.
• Monitoring progress against CGI Canada’s strategic growth plans and establishing detailed metrics for tracking with CRM and other analytic tools.

Relationship management:

• Facilitating smooth working relationships between CGI and Microsoft, managing the relationship at the Canada level and developing the CGI-Microsoft business relationships across Canada.
• Briefing senior executives on the status of the Microsoft alliance relationship in Canada and strategic growth plans, including attending and presenting at Canada Council meetings.
• Managing escalations and facilitating resolution where necessary.

Sales enablement:

• Assisting Marketing with win stories and use case creation.
• Evangelizing Microsoft solutions and value proposition internally within CGI and CGI expertise and value within Microsoft and clients.
• Hosting monthly Microsoft Canada Council sessions to support identified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from all business units, share communication on Teams channel, distribution lists, etc.
• Supporting CGI Canada’s needs to accelerate upskilling and certification.
• Communicating available funding programs and ensuring that requests are processed in a timely manner.
• Supporting the development of Azure Marketplace offers as a digital route to market.

Co-sell management:

• Collaborating with the Microsoft Partner Development Manager aligned to CGI to define and execute Go to Market (GTM) programs that prioritize industries, define key offerings, and focus on AI.
• Identifying joint marketing opportunities in Canada around our strategic offerings and Microsoft technologies.
• Working with CGI account teams to build and execute plans aligned with Microsoft partnership win strategy.
• Managing regular pipeline, opportunity, and business reviews with the Microsoft PDM and all internal stakeholders across Canada.
• Supporting deal activity and working closely with Microsoft’s customer base to best position CGI solutions and services.
• Coordinating with opportunity pursuit leads to ensure that all relevant opportunities are appropriately registered and updated in Microsoft Partner Network.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as Engineering, Finance, or Business, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 15 years of experience in a sales role or equivalent experience in a customer-facing technical/engineering or consulting role.
• Experience leading large-scale programs and the ability to rapidly learn, understand, and work with complex customer environments.
• Ability to influence C-level executives, such as Board members, CEOs, and CFOs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
