Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) / Client's office (King St, Toronto) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting an in-house built application platform and building end-to-end technical solutions to support regulatory reporting of clients Capital Markets (GBM) transactions. From root cause analysis and business requirements analysis, aided by strong data and technical system analysis, to solutioning, development, testing, and release to production, the incumbent will ensure timely resolution of high priority Production Support and Enhancement tickets. The incumbent will work closely with the broader project team, developers, scrum masters, regulatory stakeholders, trading systems, and downstream consumers to ensure high-priority support and enhancement tickets are resolved within SLAs with high quality. The incumbent will also be expected to develop application and business process subject matter expertise over the duration of the assignment.


• Work within a cross-functional Agile Capital Markets app development and support team to analyze and troubleshoot technical issues and production support tickets and deliver solutions for the same
• Support of advanced issue triage and ad-hoc data analysis and reporting
• Work closely with business users and IT teams from multiple key trading systems in Canada, US, and Asia, in the design and prototyping of business solutions
• Provide timely IT support to the enquiries from regulators in Canada and the US and internal business stakeholders to meet critical timelines
• Ad hoc inquiries from business stakeholders on G20 Regulatory Reporting logic (CFTC, SEC, CSA, MAS, HKMA, EMIR, UK, etc.), behavior, and data requests
• Change request delivery - requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing as part of new regulatory initiatives
• Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-leaner on new technologies and maintain an understanding of the business and technology strategies.
• Ability to look at a problem from both a business and technical angles

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Mandatory Skills:

• Knowledge of Capital Market products, front office trading, and back office booking process globally
• Strong hands-on experience with data analysis - SQL, Kafka, JSON, Jupyter, XML
• Ability to read and understand code in Python, JSON, Jupyter, and XML and make minor script changes
• Hands-on experience with Wall Street, Murex, SwapOne, Fenergo, UnaVista, DTCC, or other Capital Markets trading apps, reference data (counterparties, securities) management tools, post-trade regulatory reporting applications
• High levels of analytical, conceptual, problem solving and organizational skills
• Attitude and willingness to learn fast, go above and beyond consistently and work independently without supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a project environment as required, with key deliverables and ensuring requirements of department are represented.
• Strong ability to establish relationships with internal customers, as well as senior management.


Good to Have Skills:

• Ability to perform Java coding is a strong asset
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Postman, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, Airflow, and/or Linux
• Hands-on experience with K2, PeakXV
