Position Description:

The Program Test Manager is responsible for managing the testing and delivery of a multi-year program of complex projects, as well as mentoring Test Leads and other testing staff towards the achievement of the enterprise quality goals. Holding ultimate accountability for the overall quality of the delivered solution, this position requires engaging with program managers, project managers, business, architects, development leads and release coordinators to ensure all aspects of the delivery are verified through various testing phases.

This position is in the Atlantic Canada time zone and is open to candidates located in Atlantic or Central Canada.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Engage with Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysts, Test Automation, Project Managers to ensure an understanding of the project deliverables and outcomes.
• Consult with Program leadership, Project Managers, and Business leaders to develop and foster relationships to ensure alignment and reasonableness on test efforts to all stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and execute an overarching test strategy for system test, regression, and user acceptance testing of a multi-year program.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Automation Lead and Enterprise Architect(s) to implement and oversee the strategy for test automation and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, as well as performance testing and other NFR testing.
• Prepare on-boarding plan for test resources based on program needs.
• Implement Enterprise QA processes to ensure product quality can be quantified and demonstrated through concrete artifacts and deliverables.
• Provide guidance and direction to the Test Leads and their teams to deal with day-to-day testing issues. Leverage troubleshooting skills as necessary.
• Define detailed approach and governance model to monitor testing execution.
• Prepare and communicate detailed reporting for weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to stakeholders including status reports and updates to the Project Manager.
• Establish and monitor program / project schedules ensuring adherence to key testing milestones.
• Escalate any deviations from the established testing effort in timely manner.
• Identify and monitor testing risks and propose mitigation strategies as appropriate.
• Enforce standardized Enterprise QA gating criteria on all project releases to ensure a high level of quality and minimize disruptions to production processes.
• Develop Test Exit Reports for sign-off by business owners showing level of quality having been met.
• Have a commitment to delivering quality products, a keen attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to perform well under high pressure.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 10+ years in testing highly complex systems
• At least 5 years of experience in leading a team
• Post-secondary/bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• In depth knowledge of test case management tool ALM, Bug tracking tool Jira and other testing tools and/or applications development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high ability to translate highly technical terms to common business language.
• Previous experience in Insurance applications would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date. This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
