Job Summary

We are looking for an Electromechanical technician for our St-Constant site. You will be responsible for supporting the production process by performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all machinery.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing electrical problems
  • Repairing and/or installing equipment as needed
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on all machinery and equipment (HVAC, air compressor, vacuum pumps, water treatment system, boiler, autoclave, security system, etc.)
  • Performing minor plumbing work
Key Elements

The minimum qualifications sought for this position are as follows:

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Electricity
  • Electrician qualification certificate issued by Emploi Québec (excluding construction) or CCQ journeyman electrician
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience as an Electrician
  • Experience and skills in control and automation (asset)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5)

Role-specific information:

  • Location: St-Constant / Free parking
  • Salary: Starting at $34/hr. Possibility of starting with a higher salary based on experience
  • Daytime schedule: 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to noon on Friday
  • Depending on business needs, you may be required to work overtime
  • Must be available to be on call 24/7 every 4 weeks with premium pay and be able to be on-site within 30 minutes
  • Permanent position upon hire, full-time at 37 hours per week

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
