Due to the impending retirement of the current incumbent, Chinook�s Edge School Division (CESD) invites applications for an Associate Superintendent Corporate Services effective August 15, 2025. The Associate Superintendent Corporate Services is a member of our central office leadership team and is responsible for leadership of all corporate, financial, business, facility, and transportation services across the school division. It would be an asset if the successful candidate will be able to provide evidence of: Five or more years of proven leadership as a school and/or system leader. A masters degree in education, business education, leadership or other relevant discipline. A proven record of treating people with respect, kindness, empathy, fairness, and compassion. Exemplary communication skills that regularly provide opportunities for input from others; The ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of teams, committees, and partners; The ability to respond to complex or sensitive situations with reasonable solutions or decisions; The ability to implement strategic plans and processes that address system-wide challenges. Consideration will be extended to candidates with accounting experience and/or a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Associate Superintendent Corporate Services is expected to fulfill the following responsibilities in a manner which is supportive of the Board, its employees, and most importantly, in the best interest of students. The Associate Superintendent Corporate Services: Creating processes, roles, tasks, timelines, and organizational frameworks to ensure the highest possible standards in the area of Corporate Services; Arranging and providing notice for all Board meetings including committee and public meetings; Ensuring accuracy of the recording and sharing of Board meetings, proceedings, and processes; Facilitating and supporting all committees of the Board; Developing, implementing and supervising the Board�s Capital Plan on behalf of the Board; Administering proper completion and storage of contracts, leases, agreements and partnerships with outside corporations, municipalities, agencies, corporations and contractors; Representing the Board and the Superintendent on all Joint Committees; Advising the Board and Superintendent on all legislation affecting the Division; Supervising and working collaboratively with the Treasurer and Financial Services team to ensure high levels of fiscal management, responsibility, reporting and budgeting in the Division; Supervising and working collaboratively with the Director of Facility Services, central staff, and custodians to ensure that building assets are maintained in an appropriate manner and that the Board�s Capital Plan and Facilities Master Plan are up-to-date, fair, and equitable; Supervising and working collaboratively with the Director of Transportation, central staff, and bus drivers to ensure safe and efficient transportation of students in the Division; Supervising and working collaboratively with the Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Workers Compensation Board and other relevant provincial and federal regulations; Overseeing the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and communication of all Board policies and administrative procedures; Supervising and working collaboratively with the Corporate Services admin support team; Organizing compliance with all legal, ministerial, and board mandates and timelines; Contributing to a Division culture which facilitates effective emergency and crisis response; Representing the Superintendent in matters related to ASBOA, PSBA, ASBA, Rural Caucus, and other Board commitments beyond the Division; Serve as primary liaison with Alberta Education and Alberta Infrastructure on all matters involving functions of business, financial, facilities and transportation; Act as the lead on teacher negotiations and represent the Division in all relevant local and provincial negotiation meetings; Review and verify all cheques and electronic transfers by the Division on a weekly basis; Administering all insurance coverage for the Division; Facilitating DOS Advisory and DOS meetings and questions; Providing regular Corporate Services updates to the Board; Participating as a member of the Central Office Leadership (COLT) team in the areas of instructional leadership, emergency response, ADCOS, SAT, and Teachers Matter planning; Working closely with staff from schools and division office to ensure an appropriate alignment between all departments; Serves as liaison superintendent for assigned schools in the division if they possess an educational background; Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
