Under the guidance of the Manager, MiWay Training, the successful candidate will lead the end-to end cycle of employee training and development primarily for the MiWay operations employees, including Transit Operators, Route Supervisors, and Operations Schedulers. As well as, specific training initiatives for Transit Operations Management and other support functions.
- Create MiWay training programs and evolve existing training programs to support learning and development initiatives
- Create and maintain training schedules and training matrix for the operations leadership team
- Update curriculum, participant guides, facilitator guides and instruction materials
- Maintain the Driver Certification Program (DCP) curriculum, lesson plans, and materials
- Organize training programs with external vendors
- Perform training needs analysis and determine performance, skill and competency gaps with target audience
- Plan and monitor courses and determine updating to remain current and relevant
- Develop new programs and courses as needed
- Facilitate non-DCP courses when required
- Conduct interviews to collect data on training program performance and recommend opportunities for improvement
- Organize training documents, training materials, guides, SOPs, policies and procedures
- Update training program process with the Operations Management Team
- Assist with annual recruitment of Transit Operators
- Other duties as assigned
- Post-Secondary Degree in Adult Education/Training & Development and/or certification(s) in Adult Learning, Training and Development, or equivalent
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and curriculum development techniques
- 2- 3 years of experience writing curriculum, and/or policies and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications in MS Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, MS Project Management, Visio
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to transfer knowledge in formal and informal settings is required
- Effective project management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is required
- Work experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 47.72 - $ 63.63
Hours of Work: 35
