POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Résidence Manoir Outremont is a residence located in the heart of Montreal. It is thanks to our good teamwork and our rigor that we can offer a healthy and safe living environment to all our residents and employees
The Maintenance Director is responsible for coordinating maintenance and upkeep activities in the residence. He/she is responsible for requisitions, emergency calls and ensures that the place is clean and safe for residents. He/she also performs various tasks related to the maintenance of the building such as painting, plastering, laying ceramic tiles, small carpentry jobs, changing lighting or taps and various installations.
As part of his/her duties, he/she may be required to lift heavy loads.
Permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and weekends as needed.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- At all times, ensure compliance with WHMIS standards as well as health and safety rules for employees and residents
- Carry out maintenance on air conditioning, ventilation and heating equipment in the residence
- Ensure efficient customer service that meets their needs
- Ensure vacant apartments are clean and in excellent condition before next rentals
- Integrate, train and evaluate your staff
- Manage requisitions and respond to emergencies
- Mobilize, manage and coordinate the work of the residence upkeep and maintenance team
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and take charge of monitoring expenses
- Perform all other tasks related to his duties and at the request of his immediate superior.
- Plan, organize and control maintenance work, including subcontracted work
- Prepare preliminary submissions for maintenance and repair projects that must be given externally
- Take inventory of products and materials, and place necessary orders on time
- Professional training in general building maintenance (an asset)
- Occupational health and safety training
- WHMIS training
- Minimum experience of 5 years in minor manual work (painting, electricity, carpentry, plumbing)
- Experience in personnel management
- Holds a valid driver's license
