We are currently looking for a talented Nursing Assistant who cares about the health of our residents.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Our care department, composed of nursing assistants and orderlies, responds on the front lines to emergencies and works closely with all other departments (kitchen, dining room, maintenance, reception, etc.) on a daily basis to ensure the well-being of all users.

The role of the nursing assistant is primarily to administer medication, ensure that user files are updated, and record relevant information.
Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics
Record notes in resident files in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date
Contribute to the adjustment of residents' intervention plans through their observations
Promote and advocate proactive care at Residents Respond to all emergency situations


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • All other related tasks
Health Care
  • Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies
  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in related Dossiers in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières du Québec (OIIQ)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
  • Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Take part in the clinical assessments of residents and update treatment plans according to their specific needs
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
  • Geriatric experience, an asset
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience
  • Member of the OIIAQ or the or OIIQ
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
