Position Overview: The AI Lab Intern will be responsible for adding functionality to our local LLM or extending it for a novel use case, and work on a Microsoft copilot agent. In this role, the intern will assist in broadening the functionality of AI tools for Compugen.

*Please note: This role will be full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), for a duration of 4 months (May 5 to August 22, 2025) at a rate of $22.00/hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and implement techniques to optimize the performance of AI tools for scalability and efficiency
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and iterative development of AI-based solutions
  • Support the roll-out of AI tools for internal use and demo for customers
  • Monitor usage and acceptance
  • Advocate for AI use internally
  • Deliver additional functionalities to an AI-based business app (either as a stand-alone novel app or to a pre-existing app)
  • Identify and propose AI applications or improvements based on current industry trends and team goals (Research Contributions)
  • Actively collaborate with team members and contribute to problem-solving discussions
  • Publish a case study on a specific tool that was developed
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software development concepts
  • Previous experience through academic or personal projects involving AI, machine learning, or software development
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Familiarity with LLMs or AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of software version control tools, such as Git
  • You must be comfortable working in a hybrid work model with a combination of remote plus onsite work
