Position Overview: We are seeking motivated and technically adept intern to join our Network and Security team. The Network and Security Automation Intern role is a unique opportunity to work with a professional services team specializing in wired and wireless network deployments using Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, and Palo Alto products. The intern will contribute by creating automation tools that streamline network device deployments, enabling our consultants to work more efficiently.
*Please note: This role will be full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), for a duration of 4 months (May 5 to August 22, 2025) at a rate of $22.00/hour.

The intern will contribute by creating automation tools that streamline network device deployments, enabling our consultants to work more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with network consultants to understand deployment workflows and identify opportunities for automation
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate network device configuration and deployment
- Utilize Git for version control to manage and document scripts and automation tools
- Employ Azure DevOps to build, test, and deploy automation solutions
- Create and test infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
- Work in a containerized development environment using Docker and Visual Studio Code
- Design and manage development environments with dev containers to ensure consistency
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in automation scripts and tools during deployments
- Document processes, tools, and best practices for the broader team
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and security)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and/or configuration management tools like Ansible
- Experience or coursework in version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Interest in automation and developing tools for real-world applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You must be comfortable working in a hybrid work model with a combination of remote plus onsite work
- Familiarity with any of the following platforms: Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Palo Alto
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code principles and tools like Terraform
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure
