Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team.
The bioinformatician will play a key role in analyzing complex data, developing bioinformatics pipelines, and contributing to groundbreaking research projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze high-throughput sequencing data from in-house laboratories or collaborators (e.g., 16S rRNA, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics) to characterize microbial communities.
  • Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines and tools for data analysis.
  • Collaborate with differents teams to design and execute research projects.
  • Interpret and visualize complex data sets to derive meaningful biological insights.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and research.
  • Prepare and present research findings in scientific meetings and publications (internal reports and manuscripts).
  • Develop and write procedures for processing data in the laboratory.
  • Any other related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Master in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • At least one year's experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology and microbiology techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python or R.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., QIIME, Mothur, MetaPhlAn, SILVA).
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication (in French and English) and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with cloud computing and high-performance computing environments is a plus.
Work conditions

  • Full time position - Work schedule of 37.5 hours, from Monday to Friday,
  • Hybrid mode: Work from home/office based,
  • Work location: Montreal,
  • Salary based on experience,
