We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled Restaurant / Café Manager to join our team at our Saint-Henri location. The Restaurant / Café Manager will oversee daily operations, manage both service and kitchen staff, ensure smooth and efficient café service, and maintain high standards of food and beverage quality. This position is key to ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the café in the Saint-Henri location, ensuring seamless service and a high-quality customer experience.
  • Manage both service and kitchen staff, ensuring effective collaboration, communication, and productivity between teams.
  • Lead, train, and mentor staff on service standards, operational procedures, and customer service.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.
  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, ensuring every dish and drink meets company specifications.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality products and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe café environment, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of all work areas and equipment.
  • Enforce MAPAQ compliance and food safety standards across the café.
  • Create and implement promotional initiatives to enhance customer engagement and sales, including managing communications and marketing resources such as our graphic designer, printer, and social media managers to develop and execute campaigns.
  • Develop and promote catering services to expand the business offering, including managing and coordinating catering orders, promotions, and special events. This also includes assisting with menu updates and the planning and execution of new product launches to drive growth in these segments.
  • Manage and promote third-party delivery platforms like Uber Eats and DoorDash, ensuring accurate order processing, customer satisfaction, and timely deliveries.
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and prompt manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with or provide reporting to support administrative duties such as managing payroll, budget tracking, and processing transactions.
  • Update the point-of-sale system with accurate pricing, menu items, and promotions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a managerial role within the restaurant or café industry.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage both service and kitchen staff effectively.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food and beverage preparation, service standards, inventory management, and food safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of MAPAQ compliance and food safety best practices.
  • Experience with promoting and managing catering services and third-party delivery platforms such as Uber Eats and DoorDash.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues and create positive customer experiences.
  • Proficient in managing scheduling and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to plan and execute promotions, events, and other business initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor to foster a welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on café needs.
