What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and mentor employees to develop a high-performing and cohesive team
  • Work together with the People and Culture Team to effectively resolve internal staff conflicts, and to ensure employees have access to available resources
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding and training of new employees
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations, provide regular performance feedback and coaching, and implement disciplinary measures as required
  • Follow and enforce all safety initiatives and policies, and champion the company safety culture
  • Delegate responsibilities and oversee branch operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to ensure top-quality customer service at all stages of the rental process
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure a team-based approach to problem solving
  • Focus on keeping fleet rental ready through establishing efficient and effective shop flow
  • Supervise mechanics to ensure priorities are being set and preventative maintenance schedule is being followed
  • Make recommendations to management regarding rental fleet inventory
  • Manage branch costs and ensure budget adherence, including monitoring monthly profit and loss (P&L) to track financial performance, identifying areas for improvement

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the equipment rental industry, construction industry or a closely related field
  • Preferably at least 2-3 years of prior experience leading a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly professional with exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience using PowerBI is an asset
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Post-secondary education is an asset but is not required
  • Valid Class G Driver's license with satisfactory abstract
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with financial statements, profit and loss (P&L) management, and budget oversight
