SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Assistant Head Nurse plays a key role in supporting the Head Nurse or immediate supervisor in their duties.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Plan, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a department for the duration of the shift.* Act as a resource person for the care team in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.* Collaborate in the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of care programs, clinical tools, and quality assessment mechanisms.* Participate in the orientation of new employees, identify training needs, and contribute to staff performance evaluations.* Perform regular nursing duties as needed.
The Assistant Head Nurse replaces the Head Nurse or immediate supervisor during the following absences:
- Weekly days off;
- Statutory holidays;
- Annual leave;
- Any other absence not exceeding one (1) continuous month.
REQUIREMENTS* Member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ);* College diploma in nursing with four (4) years of nursing experience, including one (1) year of relevant experience for the position.
OR* Bachelor's degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree consisting of three (3) eligible certificates, including at least two (2) recognized certificates in nursing, with two (2) years of nursing experience.
The candidate will be selected according to the local collective labor agreement (Letter of agreement number 2).
Language:
- Fluent in English;
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset;
