Description
Person who assists the dentist, dental surgeon or dental hygienist in the performance of their duties in clinics or during examinations or surgical procedures. The person takes care of the preparation, general maintenance, storage and, if applicable, the sterilization of the required equipment and supplies. The person will also complete files, medical records and take care of inventory management.
Education and Experience:
- Candidates must have successfully completed the in-house certificate in Dental Technical Assistance.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of health services and the operation of a dental clinic is an asset;
- Ability to cope with stress;
- Understands and acts on detailed verbal instructions;
- Ability to manage a great deal of details;
- Must have ability in pharmaceutical calculations;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Autonomous, good judgment and discretion are requested;
- Must have computer skills;
- Must know the international system;
- Excellent manual dexterity.
LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree and in French is an asset.
OTHER* Variable schedule according to the needs of service and the visits of the specialists. The schedule will be communicated one month in advance. Person will work when the Dentist is in the community. A schedule of 9am to 5pm is potential on the weekends. Dentist visits are approximately every 4 to 6 weeks and last about 10 to 14 days per visit.
