Description
Participate in a range of nursing care activities in collaboration with the care team. Assess users' state of health and ensure implementation of the care plans, provide nursing and wellness support, as well as nursing and medical care and treatment to maintain health, restore health and prevent disease. Participate in teaching users and their relatives.
Education:
- Must hold a diploma of vocational studies (DVS) in health, assistance and nursing from a school recognized by the competent government department;
- Must be a member of l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Quebec.
Experience:
- Two (2) years' experience as an LPN.
Knowledge and abilities:
- Knowledge of the Cree culture, language and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills;
- Dynamic personality and self-confidence;
- Autonomy, sense of initiative, flexibility, discretion and empathy;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good observation skills and self-control;
- Excellent critical-thinking, organizational and decision-making skills.
Language:
- Fluency in English;
- Fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
OTHER* The applicants selected must successfully complete the following training: The administration of epinephrine for severe anaphylactic type allergic reactions. (4 hours);* On-call periods (rotation).
