SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person responsible for one or more programs with the aim of providing professional assistance in the development of services. They carry out the research required to identify and evaluate resources and needs. They design and propose development plans and programs to ensure adequate planning of services. They provide advice on the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services. They participate in various teaching and training activities.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
The mission of a residential and long-term care centre is to offer a temporary or permanent substitute living environment; housing, assistance, support, and supervision services; and rehabilitation, psychosocial, and medical/pharmaceutical nursing services to adults who, due to a loss of functional or psychosocial autonomy, can no longer remain at home despite help from family and friends.

The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out projects to develop and improve the program of clinical services (recreation, assistance, nursing, professional) and support services (kitchen, security, housekeeping) at the Chisasibi seniors' home; at the regional level, they will contribute to the project relating to the three seniors' homes on the territory.
The incumbent will participate in analyzing current practices and reviewing the literature, and will propose improvements to the services at the seniors' home with a view to improving the quality of care offered to residents.

Planning function* Design and propose plans and programs for the development of services at the seniors' home;* Contribute to developing a program of services that meet the specific needs of the residents and the current standards;* Work on all standards, rules, protocols, policies, procedures, benchmarks, and guidelines, based on management and government orientations applicable to the living environment;* In collaboration with their manager, improve the quality of services in the seniors' home (action plans, coordination of activities related to assigned projects, rigorous monitoring of project stages, regular reports to immediate supervisor, recommendations and areas for improvement, etc.);* Contribute to implementing the plans and programs developed;* Develop and maintain collaborative ties with internal and external partners.

Evaluation/control function* Participate in the continuous improvement of services offered, according to the substitute living environment approach (risk management, identification of needs/analysis/action plan, obtaining federal accreditation, etc.);

Promotion and communication function* Contribute to the promotion of best practices (organizational and substitute living environment approach);* Oversee the design of communication plans and the drafting of documents for all activities under their responsibility.

Training function* Participate in developing the general training plan and staff orientation process for the seniors' home;* Support change management at the seniors' home.

Education an experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the health and social services sector;
  • Two years' experience in program/service planning and project management;
  • Significant experience working with seniors with a loss of autonomy (asset);
  • Familiarity with the concepts of the substitute living environment approach (asset).

Knowledge and abilities:

  • Familiarity with MSSS legislation, the health network and programs, and current trends;
  • Knowledge of the background and issues pertinent to health and social services for First Nations, or an ability to grasp them;
  • Respect for Eeyou (Cree) culture, values, traditions, and teachings in the implementation of programs and services;
  • A forward-thinking vision and ability to inspire reflection;

LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree or French is an asset;

OTHER* Willing to travel regularly to the communities at the supervisor's request.
