SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who is responsible for one or more programs with a view to providing professional assistance for the development of services. She/he conducts research activities that are necessary for identifying and assessing needs and resources. She/he designs and proposes development plans and programs in order to ensure adequate service planning. She/he provides advice concerning the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services. She/he may participate in various teaching or training activities.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Director Healing Lodge, the incumbent has the responsibility to support the development and implementation of the conceptualization of Iyiyiu/Iinuu values, beliefs and practices of the Healing Lodge Program and Services. The incumbent will collect and analyze current trends of best practices of Wellness Recovery Programs and Strategies. The incumbent will also support the development and implementation of clinical tools, policies, procedures and training for the Healing Lodge Staff and internal partners. Other responsibilities include, but limited to:

  • Applies leading practices and recognized techniques related to collection, analysis and reporting of the Healing Lodge programs and quality of services;
  • Collaborates in the development, implementation and improvement of related policies and procedures;
  • Collaborates in the development, implementation and improvement of related tools;
  • Supports development and presentation of quarterly progress reports for presentation to the Board of Directors;
  • Set up review process of Traditional Healing Component of the Program Manual;
  • Help lead in the contextualization of Iyiyiu/Iinuu values, beliefs and practices of the Wellness Recovery Program and Services Manual;
  • Ensure accreditation guidelines are included and adapted in the context of Iyiyiu/Iinuu values, beliefs and practices of the Wellness Recovery Program and Service Manual;
  • Ensure Iyiyiu/Iinuu values, beliefs and practices of the Cultural Safety competencies & practices are embedded in the all programming and services of the Healing Lodge;
  • Help lead the Traditional Healing Component of Wellness Recovery Land Base Pilot Projects;
  • Support in the Identification and listing of individual and groups Stakeholders;
  • Support in the high-level stakeholder assessment and prioritize;
  • Support in the analysis and production of reports from the Community & Stakeholder engagement activities;
  • Support in the preparation of communication material that is specific for targeted stakeholders, i.e. referral and intake process, progress updates on program design;
  • Support the development of the marketing plan, i.e. Healing Lodge website, social media, quarterly newsletters, etc.;
  • Supports in the designing of orientation, onboarding and training of the all Healing Lodge Staff;
  • Support the development of Training Plans, such as the Traditional Healing & Helping Methods, Cultural Safety in Mental Health & Addictions;
  • Performs other duties normally assigned to a Planning, Programming and Research Officer as requested by his/her supervisor.

Education: * Bachelor degree in administration, human sciences or social sciences, or any other pertinent disciplines;* Master's degree, an asset; * Certification in related field, an asset;* Member of a professional order, an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience relevant to the responsibilities of the job.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, planning and organizational skills;
  • Results-oriented, autonomous, flexible, and ability to multi-task;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively collaborate with colleagues, team members, team leader and supervisor;
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships in various settings;
  • Experience with client advocacy, client partnership and quality committees are an asset;
  • Experience with data analysis, preparation and presentation of data;
  • Experience with statistical and research methodologies is an asset;
  • Familiarity with enterprise administrative and clinical information systems, technologies and databases is an asset;
  • Familiarity with statistical computer applications is an asset;
  • Familiarity with Accreditation Canada quality frameworks, standards, processes, survey techniques, and practices is an asset;
  • Familiarity with quality improvement leading practices is an asset;
  • Experience with First Nations or with cross-cultural work is an asset;
  • Experience in a remote area and land base settings;
  • Expertise of Cree culture, communities and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee;
  • Expertise of Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiium healing practices and paradigms;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and presentation;
  • Excellent computer skills MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.

OTHER* Willing to travel to various communities.
