SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The individual who designs, maintains, analyzes and implements training programs for staff. He/She coordinates internship programs at the institution.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* The Training Officer will work with potential external partners in adapting and personalizing all the training content for the training of staff;* Officer will be dedicated to the training of staff and volunteers, and ensures a yearly maintenance schedule;* Possibility of working with HRD for deployment training events.
Education:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in an appropriate university discipline.
Experience:
- One year of relevant experience in training or equivalent knowledge.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in planning, adapting, developing and implementing training programs, and maintaining existing programs;
- Knowledge of the system and requirements for work force deployment and readiness;
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering training to staff, both in group sessions and individual coaching;
- Ability to integrate Eenou/Eeyou (Cree) culture, values, traditions and teachings into programming;
- Knowledge of First Nations health and social service models, trends and issues, an asset;
- Knowledge of Cree culture, language and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team;
- Have leadership skills to work with individuals and groups;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, planning and decision-making skills;
- Must be autonomous and flexible;
- Knowledge of computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
Language:
- Fluent in English;
- Fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
