What will your typical day look like?

Our team is looking for a full-time Senior Associate to play a key role in our technical advisory work. In this role, you will help our oil and gas clients with technical and economic analysis and provide professional advice in a wide range of projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating oil and gas assets performing detailed reserve evaluations, reservoir studies, and technical and economic characterization of assets;
  • Maintain a working knowledge with jurisdictional guidelines (APEGA, COGEH, NI 51‐101, SEC) ensuring that all work is in appropriate compliance;
  • Leveraging your engineering background to work in technical analysis of energy projects, analytical modelling of existing and future investments;
  • Growing your expertise in areas such as carbon management and energy transition advisory services including understanding policy impacts on operations and investments;
  • Work with colleagues from the valuation and audit teams to develop financial analysis of assets;
  • Work collaboratively within a multi‐discipline operational team engaging team members to ensure information is efficiently shared and work is technically competent.
About the team

The Resource Evaluation & Advisory team is a collaborative group that creates value for clients through engineering and geoscientific analysis in energy industry projects, as well as providing subject matter expertise internally for other Deloitte teams. We are a group who takes client service excellence seriously while having fun and supporting the career growth and the development of each other.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in oil and gas, alternative energy, or related field;
  • Possess a degree in engineering in Petroleum, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mechanical, or other relevant degree;
  • Registered APEGA member in good standing;
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of GeoScout and Value Navigator or similar software is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI or similar software is an asset;
  • Commitment to professional client service excellence;
  • Demonstrate keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team with strong interpersonal and team‐building skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills;
  • Leadership and initiative, in and out of the work environment.
Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $106,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
