Description
Delta West Academy is a small independent school in Calgary, located in the Bridgeland community. We average a 1:10 teacher to student ratio in our classes, and service average to above average students in dynamic, engaging, and active classrooms. Our after school care program is offered only to DWA students on Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm (with the successful candidates hours beginning at 2:30pm), and Fridays from 2:30-5:30pm. The After School Care instructor would be responsible for providing students time to work on homework, or provide them alternatives such as additional math or reading activities, and then active time in either the gym or on the playground. There are additional opportunities for the instructor to plan for Professional Development days, and Parent-Teacher Interview days. The successful applicant would also be considered, if desired, as a classroom support. This could include helping our certified teachers administer assessments, and with classroom transitions and other supports. The successful candidate must also be able to provide a current vulnerable sector search for the 2024-2025 school year.
