Information Technology Coordinator

One (1) Full-time Position

40 Hours per Week; 12-month Position

We proudly serve over 42,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in Niagara, located between Lake Erie in the South and Lake Ontario to the North.

The Information Technology Services Department requires a person to fill a position on the DSBN TASK Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing the staff and students of the DSBN with the necessary training and coaching required to support the diverse needs of learners, including receiving Special Education supports, by optimizing and enhancing the use of technology in the classroom and workplace.

The functions of this position could include (but are not limited to):

Support staff in the use of educational technologies by conducting needs analyses, making recommendations based on those needs, and working with the staff member to implement an IT solution

Working alongside the IT teams who support a variety of software platforms, support users in a variety of software platforms such as Microsoft O365/Teams, Google Workspace/Classroom, Apple iOS applications, SMART Technologies, etc.

Preparing devices (e.g., Laptops, chromebooks, iPads, interactive projectors, Smart panels etc.) for deployment in all Board sites

Coordinate the replacement and installation of AV equipment under baseline technology allocation, by assembling documentation and submitting work orders.

Collaborate with other DSBN departments (e.g., Maintenance, Human Resources Department) to support successful technology installation and implementation plans

Participate in peer networks to keep current on new technology use/practices in the modern classroom

Daily travel to schools and other locations is expected

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:

Minimum 3-years' experience, working in a K-12 educational or related environment supporting the needs of diverse learners.

Experience providing technical training and coaching support for technology and/or Post-Secondary IT related education are an asset.

A valid driver’s license is required, traveling to schools, offices and offsite locations as required

Certifications with Microsoft, Google Workspace for Education and other industry solutions or a willingness to become certified on the job

The applicant must be a lifetime learner and comfortable with technological change

Exceptional presentation, facilitation and organizational skills
