Join our dedicated team at the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN), where we proudly operate 79 elementary schools and 18 secondary schools serving over 40,000 students annually from JK to Grade 12.
Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in providing essential administrative support in a half-time capacity. We are seeking a dedicated individual who values professionalism and confidentiality while performing a diverse range of administrative, clerical, and word processing duties in a vibrant secondary school environment.
Position Overview:
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the office, with a primary focus on reception, attendance, and general office duties. You will utilize computer software programs extensively to support various tasks such as managing school attendance handling correspondence and facilitating academic reporting. This role requires attention to detail, especially in managing attendance records. Additionally, you will be the firth to point of contact for telephone and counter enquiries from teachers, students, and members of the community.
Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Aspen, EasyConnect, Sparkrock, Payroll processes and other current administrative software used by the Board.
General knowledge of office procedures and school programs.
Familiarity with Excel and Desktop Publishing (or similar software).
Ability to serve as a backup for the Administrative Secretary.
Minimum Grade 12 education (preferably with a one-year College diploma in Office Administration.
Equivalent of ten (10) working months of clerical/secretarial experience in a school or DSBN clerical setting within the past two (2) years, showcasing proficiency in the described functions.
