The DDSB is one of the few school boards in Ontario experiencing growth with more than 79,000 students, 10,000 permanent staff and 136 schools and learning centers.
The DDSB is responsible for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa
Occasional teachers accept assignments within our board that could last one day to several days in multiple schools. Our Occasional teachers are essential to ensure learning continues in the classrooms when staff are absent.
The Occasional Roster is a great way to get to know the school communities in DDSB.

Ontario teaching certification, Transitional Certificate and registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (enter you OCT number in your profile, if you have one)
Resume and cover letter
Practice Teaching Reports or recent appraisal (most recent one required)
Upon hire:
You must provide the People and Culture department with a current obtained or applied for (within six months of your start date) vulnerable sector screening.
