EIA is seeking a qualified full-time Art Teacher for their Secondary Division. We are looking for an outstanding, dedicated individual who is passionate about working with children. Enjoys creating a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth while motivating students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong educational foundation. All while maintaining a strong relationship with parents, community and staff members.
Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience
A Bachelor of Education Degree or higher degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent
Hold a valid Alberta teaching certificate, or a valid Alberta Education interim certificate
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Candidates must have the ability to maintain a calm, professional manner in a fast-paced environment which will often require multi-tasking
Must have excellent classroom management skills
Understand and apply current research-based strategies for classroom instruction
Experience integrating technology (SMART board, Chromebooks, Google, STEAM Room) into teaching strategies
Supports instruction of identified students, using various teaching methods
Prepares relevant course objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines and related resources to support classroom inclusiveness
Evaluate students progress, record results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress
Participate in staff and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
Culture sensitivity, with experience in a faith-based school environment
Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community
Ability to implement Project-based Learning activities
