Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a Jr/Sr High Cosmetology Teacher at Vegreville Composite High. Teaching subjects are Cosmetology 10/20/30 and a Personal Image Design 9 classes. There is a possibility of some student support time being included in the assignment. The FTE could range from 0.571-1.0. Journeyperson certificate in hairstyling is an asset.

Vegreville Composite High serves approximately 370 students in grades 7 to 12, with 20 teaching staff and seven support staff. The school is located in Vegreville, AB, approximately 90 kilometres east of Sherwood Park, AB.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
