Enbridge is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our team!

In this role you are responsible for achieving a high standard of accuracy, efficiency and compliance in the full aggregated production of the organization’s Canadian and United States payrolls in accordance with all collective agreement and legislative requirements, while ensuring adequate edits, controls and audits are developed and maintained to contribute to the integrity of employee information and fiscal management of the organization.

Note: We are hiring for 2 Payroll Analyst positions; one is a full-time position and one is a temporary position.

What you will do:

  • Participate in the biweekly full cycle payroll run, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of all Canadian and US payrolls and ensuring appropriate checks / balances and reporting are completed in accordance with prescribed timelines and procedures (GAAP, SOX, etc.)

  • Process payroll related employee changes such as Terminations, New Hires, Company changes, that have major effect on the accuracy of payroll.

  • Maintain and review regularly the integrity, reliability, and timeliness of payroll and related information that has been input by the front-office representatives and specialists, ensuring strict adherence to statutory and other company reporting requirements

  • Support the execution of the payroll run files; validate all aggregation aspects of the inputs from the various sources; exercise control to ensure all inputs are accounted for; run payroll staging including but not limited to payroll calculation, retro calculation review, time validations

  • Support the completion of the “Payroll Settlement” process and perform the reconciliation of final payroll results (including gross to net payroll balancing)

  • Supports the payroll team with the processing of all bulk updates and off-cycle runs (retro, bonuses, relocation payments, etc.)

  • As an essential team member, assisting in the payroll production and year-end systems improvement requests, upgrades, tax releases, compliance, changes to Union CBA, as required

  • Participates in payroll team projects and testing as required

Who you are:

  • Related university degree or technical diploma with limited experience OR a combination of related certification and experience and a minimum of five (5) years directly related experience

  • Prior payroll experience in a fast-paced and ever-shifting “service environment” involving a complex union / non-union working environment, plus covering multi-provincial, multi-state organizational entities

  • Confirmed ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an inquiring approach

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work optimally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

  • 1-3 years working knowledge of Canadian and US Payroll is an asset

  • Knowledge and experience with Workday are strongly preferred
