Job Description
We are looking for a trained PLM Analyst with prior experience in the role. The ideal candidate should already be familiar with the processes of the job, tools, and best practices, allowing them to integrate quickly and contribute effectively from day one.
- Preparation and analysis of environmental samples using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM);
- Preparation and analysis of environmental samples using Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM);
- Cross training in other analysis and areas of testing; ex. Legionella…
- Ensure that company policies are adhered to;
- Ensure that work-scheduling procedures adequately address client needs;
- Provide customer service to clients;
- Responsible for the data reported by the laboratory;
- Ensure that QA/QC standards are implemented, understood, and administered, as per company policy;
- Supports the QC program;
- Data entry into LIMS system;
- Work collectively and collaborate in a Team environment;
- Determination of visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos material;
- Must be able to see accurately sight colors through microscope;
- Submits all QC data reports as directed;
- Establishes or adjusts workflow to meet turn around time schedules;
- Operate an autoclave;
- Directly report to your Team Lead and/or Lab Manager
- Other laboratory duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Specifications:
- Trained PLM Analyst
- University degree or college diploma in a biology/ chemistry-related field;
- Basic computer literacy;
- Laboratory safety and WHMIS training;
- Technical knowledge of applicable test methods;
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4pm (potential weekend/evening work as required).
