Sous la supervision du contremaître, le journalier effectue différents travaux au sein des usines de Rio Tinto Alcan tels que :

- Signaler dans les salles de cuves ;
- Conduire de la machinerie (loader, chariot élévateur, nacelle, etc.) ;
- Peinture;
- Déménagement de meuble;
- Travaux divers.
