Job Description

  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for residents
  • Satisfy the nutritional needs of residents by following therapeutic menu plans
  • Prioritize daily job tasks in order to ensure completion
  • Promote trust, respect, and cooperation with co-workers through open and honest dialogue
  • Demonstrate courtesy, a positive attitude, responsibility and excellence
  • Attend work on a regular basis
  • Attend in-services to upgrade or improve skills and knowledge
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Carry on duties as assigned by Dietary Manager and Food Service Supervisor
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Food Service Worker Certificate
  • Food Handler’s Certificate (course offered by the Public Health Unit)
  • Previous experience in long-term care food service
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP program
  • Meet requirements of a Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for the position
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing
