- Provides consultative services (on-site visits and telephone consultation’s)
- Prepares monthly reports on all assigned home related activities.
- Reviews the following: Facility/Departmental quality assurance reports - resident incidents, resident movements, infection rates, drug utilization, restraint utilization and skin integrity; in-service plan; orientation programs; quality initiatives, M.O.H. reports and other internal and external evaluations for the Nursing Department and Resident Care Programs of the assigned facilities and makes recommendations to the Administrator, Director of Care, and Regional Directors as required.
- Conducts operational assessments, with follow-up of the Nursing Service and Resident Care programs as directed and makes recommendations for corrective action plans and evaluation.
- Takes a lead role in assisting facilities to achieve best results.
- Monitor critical indicators of resident care.
- Analyzes and works with facility staff to achieve best results.
- Extrapolates from key indicator data as part of educational needs assessment.
- Collaborates with the Regional Manager in assisting assigned facilities to achieve excellence in provision of care and services.
- Collaborates with other LTC Consultants in initiating best practices throughout Eastern Operations.
- Promotes best practices by keeping abreast of same, participating in professional development activities and collaboration with peers.
- Conducts educational programs for regional nursing directors, holds regular meetings and takes a lead in setting goals for the group.
- Assumes primary lead in assisting assigned homes on implementation of computerized systems for resident documentation and classification.
- May be assigned specific project work which may be facility based for time limited periods.
