Nurse Practitioner- Extendicare Michener Hill

NURSE PRACTITIONER

The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the Nursing Leadership team and Physicians to provide comprehensive health services to the residents of Extendicare Michener Hill. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for completing health assessments for residents experiencing acute or chronic medical conditions, including diagnosis, ordering tests and therapeutic treatments. The Nurse Practitioner takes an active role in Inter-disciplinary Team conferences and Quality Improvement projects/teams/ activities.

Required Qualifications:

· Current registration as Nurse Practitioner with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta

· Ability to communicate with residents/families from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

· Ability to work independently within the multi-disciplinary team structure.

· Effective communication skills -- both written and verbal

· Knowledge/Experience with MDS -RAI assessments/coding is an asset.

· 3-5 years of LTC experience is preferred.

· Ability to use computer programs such as Word/Excel/ Outlook or Microsoft 365
