We are looking for employees who are able to cover vacations, fill in for sick calls and able to be available when called. We have 2 part time dietary aide

positions that need to be filled as soon as possible.

REPORTING TO: Food Services Supervisor

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor or designate, the Dietary Aide assists in the preparation and service of resident meals and nourishments, supports the overall operation of the kitchen by completing other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Have a high school diploma or working towards completion of high school diploma.
Previous work experience in long term care or seniors housing an asset.
Current food handlers’ certificate is an asset.
Ability to read and write English as well as to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
Mentally and physically able to perform duties and maintain regular attendance.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Demonstrated concern and interest in providing quality care and service for residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in meal preparation and serving of food and beverages
Sets up meal trays and steam carts; transporting food to dining rooms; serving meals; meeting residents needs by responding to requests.
Maintains a high level of cleanliness and sanitation within the dining room(s) and kitchen by following scheduled cleaning routines and cleaning guidelines for equipment.
