This position is located at our Extendicare Medex home located in Ottawa, Ontario.

We're looking for a full-time Resident Service & Experience Coordinator to join our long-term care home team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and leading engaging activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of our residents.

You will work collaboratively with every department to ensure that residents maintain their independence and function at their highest level. This involves engaging closely with residents, their families, and our care team to create a vibrant and fulfilling social environment. Experience in therapeutic recreation or a related field is preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Coordinating activities that support this goal and ensure they run smoothly will be a key part of the job. The ideal candidate will excel in managing the integration of efforts from various disciplines to enhance the overall well-being of the residents.

Previous experience in dementia care is an asset, along with completion of the Dementiability training program. Dementiability is a two-day program focused on improving dementia care through a person-centered approach. The program helps staff discover important details about a person's past and present. Cultural sensitivity is also essential for this role, as you'll be working with residents from diverse backgrounds.
