ResponsibilitiesTasks

Prepare cost estimates for materials and/or labor
Prepare pre-qualification bids for presentation to customers
Read plans, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
Prepare general cost estimates (Class A)
Prepare elementary cost estimates (Class B, C, D)
Operate computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and other computer systems
Conduct cost-benefit studies and provide cost estimates for proposed projects
Create and submit estimating reports, specification sheets and bid forms
Communicate, liaise and consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
