I am looking for an Assistant Director of Finance for my client who specializes in real estate. This is a 37.5h permanent contract, located on the sister island.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic component:
- Recommend action plans to ensure annual financial objectives are met.
- Design financial models, scenarios or analyses to support the various departments, while identifying and managing financial risks.
- Oversee the annual budget process and support managers in managing their budgets.
- Ensure the valuation and management of inter-company transactions.
- Ensure compliance with tax and legal requirements, as well as accounting standards.
- Evaluate and improve the department's business processes in collaboration with the team.
- Actively participate in governance, including the Audit and Risk Management Committee, with occasional presentations to the Board of Directors.
Cash Management and Expense Approvals:
- Act in collaboration with the Finance Director to manage treasury policies and payment approvals.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies on equity, debt, tax obligations, equity, disposals and acquisitions.
Financial reporting:
- Plan, direct and coordinate financial operations under the supervision of the Finance Director.
- Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and performance reports.
- Ensure transmission of results when required.
Department management:
- Guarantee the integrity of financial data and the standardization of processes, by implementing control procedures and regular tests.
- Supervise, coach and support the team in their professional development and the achievement of their objectives, while fostering a healthy work climate.
- Coordinate the audit file with the external auditors and supervise the processes related to the preparation and follow-up of requests.
- Collaborate with the Finance Director to define departmental needs and optimize the use of technological solutions.
- Act as a resource person in the payroll process as required.
WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration (any other combination of equivalent training will be considered) ;
- Minimum ten (10) years' relevant experience in a similar position;
- Member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrées du Québec (CPA);
- Ability to understand and popularize issues, as well as to have a strategic vision;
- Good command of the Office suite, advanced Excel skills;
- General knowledge of accounting software (Business Central is an asset);
- Mastery of Power BI (an asset);
- Good interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy and professionalism);
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- Excellent command of French (spoken and written), and a functional level of English to exchange easily with our customers and suppliers.
