My name is Romane, recruitment and business development advisor at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in the recruitment of finance professions. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on the South Shore of Montreal. Our team of financial experts speak your language and operate in your world. We cover accounting, finance and payroll professions.
I am looking for a CPA Financial Controller in investment funds for my client, in the financial services sector. This is a permanent position in hybrid mode in Brossard.
Main responsibilities
1. Calendar monitoring and coordination
- Define and manage the monthly data collection and update calendar, with portfolio companies and in collaboration with the investment teams, ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with fund accounting teams to ensure timely data entry.
- Proactively follow up with stakeholders in the event of delays or missing data, adopting a proactive and engaging communication style.
2. Accounting and Financial Data Control
- Oversee the collection, validation and import of initial financial data into iLevel, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Analyze any discrepancies or inconsistencies and propose corrective action in conjunction with the relevant teams.
- Participate in the development and implementation of control procedures to continuously improve data reliability.
3. Guardian of the financial reporting framework when integrating new portfolio companies on iLevel
- Ensures a central role in the integration of new portfolio companies on the iLevel platform, guaranteeing compliance with the financial reporting framework.
- Involves close collaboration with the IT team, in charge of the technical configuration of the platform, to ensure optimal implementation and compliance with corporate standards.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Serves as point of contact for investment teams, fund accounting and other stakeholders, answering their questions on data quality, availability and compliance.
- Works closely with the IT team responsible for the iLevel platform to identify opportunities for automation of both financial reporting and accounting controls to optimize the efficiency and quality of financial reporting.
- CPA designation required
- Financial management and control: Minimum 5 years' experience in financial management or analysis, controlling or auditing, ideally in a fund management, private equity or investment context.
- Coordination and collaboration: Proven experience in project management involving internal and external stakeholders (Finance, IT, portfolio companies). Ability to oversee complex processes with strict deadlines.
- Financial analysis and problem solving: Ability to analyze variances, identify inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of investment financial adjustments: Experience or knowledge of different types of financial adjustments (working capital adjustments, EBITDA adjustments, provisions, etc.), specific to investment transactions and portfolio company financial reports.
