My name is Melissa, I am a recruitment consultant in finance, accounting and payroll. I work in permanent and temporary positions in the Greater Montreal Region.

I am looking for a senior accountant for a manufacturing and retail distribution group located in Ville-St Laurent. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting and team supervision. This position is permanent, full-time, with the possibility of working remote.



* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
* Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions.
* Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
* Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and accruals.
* Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate and support external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification a plus. Audit experience strongly preferred
* 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including hands-on experience with financial reporting and analysis.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP).
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
