My client in the field of custom furniture manufacturing is looking for a Buyer on site in Sainte-Thérèse.

Your tasks :

- Plan purchases in line with project planning.
- Develop and qualify a network of reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide estimating support by soliciting bids from suppliers, communicating with vendors and filing bids to ensure effective purchasing follow-up.
- Request quotations for specialized and standard purchases.
- Analyze purchase requests and determine procurement strategies in collaboration with suppliers.
- Place orders with suppliers and maintain supplier and subcontractor database.
- Check inventory levels and adjust sources quarterly in line with price changes and delivery times.
- Validate and forward invoices in accordance with current invoicing procedures.
- Monitor orders in progress and make any necessary reminders.
- Manage internal and external non-conformities and associated documentation.
- Update the department's monitoring tables and performance indicators, and report on the progress of purchasing files.
- Coordinate site deliveries to ensure compliance with deadlines and project requirements.

Skills required:

- Training in purchasing management, logistics or other relevant training.
- Relevant experience in purchasing and/or shipping management, ideally in the woodworking or cabinetmaking industry.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D technical drawings.
- Thoroughness, organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to anticipate risks and solve logistical problems.
- Proficiency in computer tools and purchasing/inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of transport and import/export standards and regulations (an asset).
