We are looking for a manufacturing buyer for our customer located in St-Hubert.
The person will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Analyze material requirements, taking into account production and other constraints (quantity, quality, on-time delivery, etc.);
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers;
- Ensure PO volumes: from PO line input to goods receipt;
- Set the optimum inventory levels to be maintained to ensure efficient production, and ensure that these levels are maintained;
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quotations, prices, quality and purchasing conditions;
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts;
- Maintain up-to-date MRP data for all inventoried products;
- Identify supply-related problems and coordinate delivery schedules with planning;
- Resolve problems with suppliers concerning late deliveries, over-shipments, missing items, non-conforming materials;
- Ensure best practices and identify opportunities, propose and implement improvements promoting department efficiency;
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to achieve set objectives
Skills sought:
- DEC in business administration, commerce or other relevant discipline;
- 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Knowledge of value-added production techniques (VAP), LEAN;
- Knowledge of ERP systems;
- Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration (asset).
